That my blogging has become non-existent. My apologies. We’ve been busy soaking up the summer. First there were fireworks at the city show (exploded straight into the crowd instead of the sky thankyouverymuch).

Then there was some merry go rounding,

some water sliding,

some kangaroo zooing,

some camping (I know, I’m still in disbelief myself),

some swim suit mini golfing,

and some baby growing (this is 16 weeks, and we’re sitting pretty at 22.5 now!).

It’s been busy on some days, slow on others, and hot all the way through. We’re looking forward to some crisp cool autumn air and some more frequent blogging for all 6 of you to read. Over and out.

I think next year she will have a bit more fun when she understands how to play the games. Can’t beat free!

The baby seems to be doing well, and Abby knows the word “baby” so we are all set!

The lake day- here the girls are all headed out. I was not about to get in a canoe! I’m prone to tipping, and this was a fully clothed-no swimsuits-leech infested type deal. Pass on the canoe. I did end up hopping in a paddle boat with one of our girls though, and that was lovely.

After my legs got tired (didn’t take long, especially since we had hiked a good bit the day before) I joined the girls in the sandbox. They think of everything up there!

This quilt has seen many many of my hours… somewhere in the neighborhood of 40-50 hours actually. Quilting is a labor of love. Not really profitable to make a quilt this intricate to sell. In my mind, that makes it priceless! It just came back from the machine quilter, and now it’s ready to get the binding put on and then it’s all finished. Binding is a long long process, especially with a quilt this size. Finished, the quilt measures about 6′x7′, which is just larger than the blanket that I currently use to cuddle up to watch TV with. I guess I will finish it just in time for it to get warm outside =]

The thing about having a baby is that so many people do it differently, but no one way is wrong. I read a lot of stories about women who had long long labors, and who had short ones. Everyone has a different shape and a different birth experience. Almost no use comparing them, but it’s so lovely to read about people’s experiences with such a wonderful time in life. Some of the stories will make you laugh, and some will make you cry.

My favorite part about the whole thing is that everyone gets to choose what their ideal is. You don’t always get your way, but you get to think about what is the best for you. I think that’s wonderful.
